1977 Cat's Hill
Stumbled on to your website and it brought back
fond memories. What a great race! I took
second in the Junior’s in 1978, winning the
field sprint after a solo rider (apologies, I forget
his name) broke away with a few laps to go.
What I wanted to point out is that the men’s
event in both 1977 and 1978 were won by 16 year
old Juniors. Marc Brandt was amazing in 1977
and Cat’s Hill was just one of many victories
for him that year. In 1978, Greg Lemond beat
out Men’s National Champion and Olympian
Wayne Stetina in an exciting sprint finish.
Visiting your website makes me want to get a license
again and race in the 45’s……almost!
